Overcharging for auto service

The Edison Rd location of Zolman Tire completed basic maintenence (transmission and fuel induction) on my 2001 Olds Aurora today. The service also included replacing plugs at a cost of $120 parts (8 plugs @ $15 ea) and $187 labor (2.5 hours), for a total of $307, not including tax and disposal fees. I have access to alldata, and it lists a standard labor of 1.4 hours. I also contacted a certified and trusted GM mechanic who lives out of state. He said that the 1.4 hours is indeed standard, and that the cost of parts should be $111.68 or less, given that AC-Delco sells the plugs to the service center for $4.52 ea.in other words, a charge of $216 would be considered reasonable for replacing the spark plugs on my car. However, Zolman Tire charged me about $100 more.

BEWARE of their overcharging you on the cost of labor. Do not make my mistake: Call around and get estimates on basic auto service first before taking your car to Zolman Tire.
