"Just for Me" scam

After renting a car in Minneapolis with my credit card, I received in the mail a check for $9.25.
By depositing it, I would be giving the company permission to begin charging my Visa credit card for $119 the first year and $129 for years to come so I can be member of their "Just for Me" program (spend money and I get 2% back, up to $100).
This is was the last straw after my experience of being hustled to upgrade and add on to my basic car rental online reservation.
