Muscle Car Restoration Nightmare

My experience with Smoky Hill Restoration in Granbury, Texas was terrible. I purchased a 1969 Chevelle SS and had the car taken to Smoky Hill Restoration in April to see what could be done to the car to make it what I wanted it to be. After almost two years and many thousands of dollars I removed the car with the help of my law firm in December in order to get the car completed.

The owners of Smoky Hill Restoration, Bill Hart and Wanda Hart made many false promises regarding the completion time frame of the work that we agreed upon and contracted for. During the process on several occassions they requested more money from me that was not a part of their written proposals and bids for the work which was supposed to be turn key. Each time I denied their requests they would delay work until I would threaten to remove the car.

Smoky Hill Restoration also asked for advances on work in excess of what was prudent based on the work they had completed.in almost every case when the advances were made nothing would happen for some time with my car until I would get mad or start making demands. This emotional roller coaster destroyed the fun of having the car restored.

Smoky Hill Restoration also had me order parts and accessories for the car that would not work with what was built and kept many of the original parts required to complete the car that I now have to repurchase.

We have now discovered that several items that were fabricated for the car during restoration by Smoky Hill Restoration will not allow the car to operate as expected and must be redone by the shop I have hired to complete the car.

Communications with Smoky Hill Restoration was very bad unless they needed or wanted money.in most cases concerns or questions I had were ignored until I got mad and demanded a response.

If you want a muscle car or classic car restored I would not consider Smoky Hill Restoration for any work.
