Fail to honor warrantees!

I took an alternator to the Rockland, Maine VIP outlet, with slip
in hand, for an alternator I purchased 2 years ago. I simply wanted an exact replacement for the very same vehicle I'd originally purchased it for. I was told what I'd brought back was not their unit.in short, they would not accept the unit they had sold me.

Subsequently, I stopped into an Auto Zone store to inquire about their products. I mentioned VIP's lousy treatment of a customer like me who had been loyal to them for the past 8 or 9 years, having spent several thousand dollars average for each of those years!

To my absolute astonishment, the manager said to me, "We honor VIP warranties because our customer service begins where VIP's ends"! I couldn't believe it! I left the Auto Zone store with a replacement alternator, compliments of a VIP COMPETITOR!!!
THANK YOU AUTO ZONE!!! Those same 4 or 5 thousand dollars will now be spent at Auto Zone each year, now. Eat your hearts out VIP jerks! Yes, you Eric!!!
