Drive financial has harrased, lied and embarrased me

As you probably know by now, Drive Financial Services
has very deceptive collecting pratices.

I have dealt with many persons there since I was laid
off in September. The worse employee I have dealt
with is Jim Butler. He is very, very rude and always
refers to the vehicle as "his" vehicle and he needs to
reposses "his" vehicle. He is always threatening me
with repossession and never tries to assist me. I have
repeatedly requested another collector. The company
assigns you to several collectors at least every 3
mths. I had a very nice one by the name of Ms. Jackson
at ext. 1536. Whatever she requested me to do, I did
it.

The bizarre practice they have is: You will
receive a phone call and if you do not answer the
call, your references will get a call saying you are
avoiding them and then they explain all of your
personal business to them. I am only allowed to use
my cell phone duing my breaks at work. Of course,
they think I am avoiding them because I can't call
back immediately even though I have explained this seevral times. This is against federal regulations and is very embarrassing.

Unfortunately, the way the phone system is set up when you call in it goes directly to your account mgr. I always have to call from another phone or a private line in order for the call to be routed to someone else.

When I googled "complaints against Drive Financial
Services in Dallas, TX" I was overwhelmed with all the
complaints and how many persons are trying to
establish a class action lawsuit. I really need to
contact the attorney general in that area of Dallas,
TX but have no idea how.

What hurt me more than anything was when I made a call
today to explain to Jim Butler that the payment that
was due on yesterday couldn't be made until Monday
because I live on a hill and it is snowing here in
Seattle. I couldn't leave my home. The new job I have
does not have direct deposit. Previously, when I made
payments I could make them with my debit card. I was
unable to cash my check. He said we will have to pick
up the vehicle and you will need to pay 2000.00. I
said you know where I live. Do what you need to do. So
$410.00 turns into $2000.00. I was not telling him I
wasn't able to make any payments. I called to inform
him that it would be one business day late.

That company has literally made me ill and nervous along
with a lot of embarrassment. Managers and reps hang up
on you and do not know how to assist you. All they
know is how to yell and threaten you. Also, when you
call in you get different amounts of what your payment
should be. Then when you pay what you are supposed to,
you get a call saying it wasn't enough.

Please advise me on what to do. I tried to trade the
car in but it is worth only $4000.00 and I owe close
to $9000.00. That hurts also. It is a 2003 Chevy
Cavalier. I purchased it in April.
