Drive Time Car Sales
Or DT Credit Corp Taking advantage

Cars & Transport

I purchased my first car from Drive time a few years ago. Of course, I was paying a high interest rate because my credit score is not so pretty. That is the reason these folks are in business, there are many people that have "subprime" credit. The car was starting to have some mechanical issues and of course i owed more than it was worth, so I begin the process of trying to get another car. I had a history with Drivetime so I returned there to trade in my car. I got into another vehicle and signed the paperwork. The next morning I started thinking getting into another car with them was a bad idea. I had done the paperwork with them the night before around 7:30 or 8 pm. I called DT and asked to bring the vehicle back and just have my old car back. I informed the Salesman that had been such a nice guy the night before when he was selling me the car that I wanted to just bring the new car back. He said he could not help me. I asked for a supervisor, I explained that I had only had the new vehicle since the night before and that 24 hours had not even expired. He refused to help me. I called the customer service complaint line and gave them all the details, they would not help me. They kept referring me back to the branch where I purchased the vehicle. I told them how the Salesman seemed so willing to assist and accomodate when he was trying to make the sale but then could not help at all when I called the next day.

I spoke to the new Manager at the location, (he says his first day was the day I made the purchase). I told him my story and he was not willing to assist. I told him that I would just like my old vehicle back. He said it was gone. I questioned how it could be gone that fast but no sensible answer was given. I was told the paperwork was signed and there was nothing that could be done.

A couple of days later I got a call saying they did not get all the proper paperwork signed and that I had to come back in and sign it. I of course refused and said that I wanted to axe the deal. I was told I did not have a choice.

I kept waiting on my plates to arrive and they never did. I was going on a trip out of state and had to drive with temp tags. I finally got a phone call saying that they had made yet another mistake and put the wrong year model for the vehicle on my inspection tag so the tax office sent the paperwork back and would not issue a plate. I was told that I would have to have the unit inspected again. OF COURSE I AM LIVID.

I asked the new Manager why they could not correct the mistake they made on the paperwork since it was their mistake. He said that I would have to go into an inspection center and have it re-inspected. (Did I mention that the passenger side door won't open from the outside). The Salesman did not even know this until I pointed it out. How can you be selling a vehicle and know much of nothing about it?

I told the manager if I never saw any of the folks there again it would be too soon and that this has been a horrible experience. I told him that I skipped note or was late that they would be all over that but they can't seem to do anything else.

I really would like to know if there is a suit I could join in on. I know I have been lied to and taken advantage of. There is no telling what else is wrong with my paperwork.

In closing, I lost my job after all this and was late on a note... Guess what. They were indeed all over that. I got numerous phone calls and text messages. I still don't have a plates. I will have to deal with them again because when i start driving again I will have to get plates.

I would like to be in on whatever suit is out there against them.
