I purchased a classic car and had air conditioning added. The car wouldn't start, spare tire was flat, and the AC blew apart

I purchased a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible from P. Js Auto World, Inc. Of Clearwater, Florida. The car was to be in good working order, thoroughly inspected, and I was told I would be pleased with the purchase.

The car was shipped to my home in Omaha, Nebraska. The car would not start, had a flat spare tire, was missing the convertible top boot, and the new air conditioner I paid PJs Auto World, Inc. To have installed operated for three minutes.

The reason the car wouldn't start is that the battery had been drained by a misaligned brake light switch which left the brake lights on constantly. The wheel for the spare tire was so rusty an adequate seal could not be formed to hold air. I was promised a new boot would be purchased and sent. It has never been received.

The air conditioner I ordered from and paid PJs $2,200 for cost me an additional $1,457 to have returned to working order. There were multiple installation problems. When I asked PJs to reimburse me for the AC repairs they said I would have to talk to their contract installer. Thank goodness the installer agreed to reimburse $500 for repairs, but since he had been paid less than $700 for the installation, shipped replacement parts for the repair, that was all he would cover. PJs told me that had car been in Florida the AC would have been repaired for free and that I was overcharged for the repairs and PJs not agree to reimburse the balance of the repairs.

Had the car been thoroughly inspected it would have been obvious the battery could not support continuous operation of the brake lights and the AC would have broken in Florida where it could have been repaired by PJs contractor.

I have contacted the Clearwater, Florida Better Business Bureau, but P.J. S has refused to take any responsibility for the issues after the sale.
