Has a 3 phase plan for your failure

Cars & Transport

Hello fellow drivers:

I would like to take the time to ware all that may be considering driveing for this company. Do yourself and family a big favor and look elsewhere for an oppertunity. I am a fairly new driver with great ecpectations for myself and family. So when I wandered into the Houston office of Shelton Trucking and spoke with the office manager, I was convinced that this would be a good company to work for. I even met with the GM for the company whom just happened to be in town restaffing his Houston terminal after fireing the other office staff for favortism. Of this fact I'm not sure only restateing what was said when I attended orientation the following week. When I submitted my application I was told that I would make at least $1000 a week. This statement was furthure enforced because I saw one of the route sheets for a job running from Houston to Florida for $2000. I took one look at that and I was sold. So I submitted my application and was off to Florida the following week for Orientation. Once in florida you really find out what the company is all about. First of all they give you a crash course on how you get payed. Now keep in mind that you are hundreds of miles from home. They give you a rushed over version of their pay process, and get you set up with your insurance. After this you are taken out to the lot to pick out a truck. Now they have a massive machanic shop full of wrecked tractors that they buy
from differant companies and repair for new drivers to lease. These Trucks are older model macks that they pawn of on new drivers for $68000 plus 18%
interest. I have never felt so raped before in my life up into that time. You just keep thinking that you've invest your time coming up here and you feel obligated to give it your best shot. When you get your truck they give you a $300 advance for feul, and you find out that you first load is in mobil over 150 miles away and going more than 700 miles away, and only pays $800. This was my first eye opener. I soon found out how they make their money. After careful study of how I was to be paid I found that: you could only be paid on loads faxed in between mondays and fridays before noon. Fuel charges came out between Mondays and Sundays. The lease on the Truck is between Tuesday and Tuesday. With a setup like this no matter how much you run you will always owe the company every week. Because sometimes they will not bill a load even when it was faxed in on time. So you will get your settlement and find that you are in the red because all your fuel usage and truck expenses came through but you didn't have enough billed to cover them. This was also inhanced by the constant low paying loads. These were nothing like the loads I saw prior to hiring on. I worked for this company for a month and almost lost my shirt because I wanted to make this system work. All I recieved was smart talk from their dispatchers in Florida and offers of a job as a company driver if this does not work. I had to barrow money from myself each week just to make ends meet. This money would be the first thing out of my settlement the following week. To make it clear I ran constantly 5 to 6 days a week only to have this company steal it away from me with their fraudulant practices. I sware If I Could afford it I would sue them for what they put me and my family through. It took me about 5 months to dig myself out of the hole they put me in. I have seen the office manager in Houston brake down and cry because she is constantly blamed for the problems of the drivers, when its those jokers in Florida doing all the dirt. So Take my advise Please!!! If you have been considering going to shelton, cancel that idea, And if you speak to John Henry, one of their employees in Altha Florida run as if there was a snake on your heals!!!
