Oklahoma City Internet Scam will promise a car is in stock just to get you in the door Ripoff

I found a car online that i was very interested in. I called fowler dodge and spoke to the internet sales lady. She had to look then told me that yes the car was there and that the price was in the "low 24's". She asked if I'd like to look at it and I told her it was a five hour drive but that yes, I'd like to look at it at 2:00 the next day.

After deciding that i wanted the car I got my paperwork together to go to the city. The next morning she called me to confirm that i was coming. I told her that i was. I got lost on the five hour trip and called her twice, an hour into the trip and five minutes away. As soon as I got there I met her and she introduced me to the super nice salesman. I showed him the printout of the car with the vin number and after leaving for a minute he came back with someone else and they told me that the car i wanted was sold two days ago and that an employee had bought it for his wife. They told me that they would get me a good deal on another car and then only went down a little when i finally did find something (that wasn't close to the car i intended to buy).

They were very shady, making me wait a long time and really wanting me to just leave. I understand when mistakes are made and they did apologize. However, the sales lady told me the night before that the car was there, confirmed that morning, and then two other times while I was on the five hour treck. The car is STILL listed on the site three days later. You'd think if it were a mistake the car would be immediately removed. On a positive note, the salesman was VERY nice and I would do business with him anytime. I am a single mom and nurse who works hard and really just wanted to not be lied to. The doctors, nurses and hundreds of patients I work with will definitely hear about this. I feel very much that this was a scam to get me in the door and it makes me sad that people will go to these lengths.
