Cars & Transport

I purchased my vehicle from this auto dealer, before I knew it, as I was rushed through the process, after being told twice with a witness present, and not knowing any better, I signed my life away for a car that was priced at 6999.99 with a $2000.00 DP., I wrote a check for $1300.00 upfront, ($300.00) for an extended warranty,

They did not offer any 30day Warranty nor did they check the car out, or clean it. The oil was dark and old. I also wrote another (2) checks for $500.00 ea. I was told they would postdate them and call me ahead of time to check with me to be sure it was ok to deposit them, He told me if It wasnt a good time that I had up-to 45days to make good on the checks, and even then if I needed more time, they would work with me.

I was told by the owner not to say anything to the Financing Company that I had paid all money upfront. And I did. (not realizing that is against the rules of the bank) Im not a dealer nor a salesperson. So I would not realize Im doing something wrong but the dealer would.

Before I relaized what I was signing as the owner was going through everything, pulling the paperwork out of my hands, rushing me through the process, I purchased a vehicle, paying the dealer, over 8,000.00 for the vehicle, which included my DP of $2,000.00 He got his 7000.00 from the bank, he lands up getting $9000.00 and the Bank charges me 28.41% Interst, all together I am paying $15,940.00 for a vehicle that is only blue book value of 6500.00 In excellent condition.

He most likely only paid $2000.00 for it at the auction, I was told this by another dealer, that dealers try to make their actual cost back on the vehicles at the time they buy them from the auction.

The Dealer proceeds to call me and bully me into telling me he never made any deal with me on the post dated checks for $500.00, he tells me he's going to deposit them, wont give me more time to make good on the checks, now I call the Bank and explain to them with no sympathy, they said stop payment on the checks, so I did, and now he's threatening to take me to court.

I feel this dealer ripped me off not only on the price of the vehicle, but sold me a vehicle with problems, the passenger side door sticks, the gears are not shifting properly and the truck jerks when speed increases, more than the normal ODrive presents. It's like the transmission is slipping.

I feel that these type of auto dealers should not be allowed to do business this way and take advantage of good people who have already suffered some financial hardships due to life circumstances, in my case a divorce, starting life over, moving, trying to make good on my bills, I'm just a single mother, struggling, I live on my own support myself. Trying to do the right thing. And just want to drive a safe, decent vehicle to get me to work, to better myself. But how can I at these prices and these (what should be illegal) tactics.
