Confirmed trade in price on 2005 Sonata XL, dishonestly reduced it from 10,000 to 8,500 ripoff

On 6-27 We came to Herb Chambers of Auburn to purchase a 2008 Sonata Limited.

I had a 2005 Sonata XL for a trade in, in excellent condition with 38000 miles, no dents, two new tires, and all of the maintenance including the 33,000 mile maintenance.

I had checked the Kelly blue book and it said as a trade this car should be worth $10,600.00.

We discussed this with the salesman Michael Kavorkian and we told him we would accept $10,100.00.

Michael left and had a discussion with his manager then returned and said that $10,100.00 was fine.

We concluded the business and I went to sign the contract. I listened to the account manager about several extra options and while listening I glanced at the contract and signed it, not expecting dishonesty.

When I returned home I looked at the contract and found that Michael had written in $8500.00 as the trade in value.

I feel I was taken advantage of and distracted with all of the hype and their knowing that many people do not read the contracts verbatim.

Legally there is nothing I can do about it, morally it was wrong, it does not make sense that I would accept $8500.00 when I had information indicating the trade in was worth $10,600.00
