Cars & Transport

I purchased a step van from this dealer on 5/21. I made the mistake of trusting the dealer on their word. I saw their ad in a local Trader magazine and purchased this vehicle over the phone. I was by told by the salesman that the vehicle was in excellent shape and the air conditioning worked really well. I paid for this vehicle in full on 5/25. When I received the vehicle, I checked it over and noticed that the air conditioning was making a loud noise and turning on and off intermittently. The locks on all the doors did not work and it had a few dents, a crooked front bumper and a bent rear bumper. Needless to say, the salesman misrepresented the condition of the vehicle. I took the vehicle over to my mechanic for him to check out. He came back with the following repairs:

Remove and Replace: a/c blower wheel, ignition switch, front brakes, O2 Sensor, oil pan gasket and rear lamp. This does not include all the body damage as well as the door lock repairs.

These repairs cost me approximately $1,000.00. I do not think this vehicle was in excellent condition.

In addition, for the last couple of weeks I have been trying to find out the status of my title. I made numerous calls to the Dealer and left several messages. I could not get anyone to call me back or advise me of the status of the title. I have purchased many vehicles in the past and I noticed something I have never seen before on a vehicle title transfer. The dealer being so minuscule and cheap, placed a lien on the vehicle for the tag transfer fee of $51.35. Apparently, they place a lien on the vehicle and then they release the lien once the tag fees are paid. I have never seen this before and I have purchased many vehicles in the past. So the tag fees were paid in full on 6/14. Today is 7/11 and I still have not received a title to the vehicle. I contacted the State of Florida Department of Motor Vehicles and they stated that the title was sent to the Dealer on 6/14. I have made more calls to the dealer today and they will not take any of my calls nor will they return any messages.in consideration of all of this, I have filed a complaint with the State of Florida Department of Motor Vehicles. So when contemplating doing business with this Dealer: BUYER BEWARE.
