North Coast Auto Auction
Dishonest, deceiptful, will not correct, fraud

Cars & Transport

I purchased a Mercedes ML 430 from North Coast Auto Auction onApril 30. I drove the car less than two miles, for the first time since possession. It began to sputter and would not exceed 15 mph. I took it directly to the Mercedes dealership near my home. Yesterday, I recieved an estimate for $7000.00 in repairs. These repairs include:
The sunroof frame (it is bent and thus is inoperable entirely.)
Mass air flow senser.
Three oxygen sensors
Tie rod
Active Transmission fluid leak
Active vavle cover leak
and others.

I immediatley contacted the warranty company to expedite repairs. This morning they indicated that they would in no way honor my warranty and were thus voiding it from this point on. I spoke with Joe on several occassions prior to my purchase of this vehicle. Prior to purchase I indicated that I may want to go ahead and have it inspected. He assured my that this vehicle had been thoroughly inspected by your company and that there was nothing wrong with it. As indicated by phone and on their website, it was ready to drive anywhere.

Also, upon recieving the paperwork, I noticed that the type of warranty that I wanted was only good on cars with less than 85,000 miles. I called the warranty company and they said that the dealer would have to call in for special approval. I called Joe and he said that he could get it done. I emphasized that the only way that I would even want the vehicle is if I could get the warranty. He assured me that it would not be a problem.

I am fully aware that I purchased a used car. I know the problems that may or may not come with a used car purchase and I am aware of the risk. But this car couldn't even make it two miles! Not only that, I asked Joe if there was anything apparently wrong with the car and it is obvious that the sunroof has been inoperable for quite awhile.

I went the extra steps to verify your strong reputation with ebay, and the BBB as a dealer and thoroughly researched the warranty company. I looked at cars here locally, but based my buying decision soley on your good reputation and the reputation of the warranty company as well as the type of warranty that was offered. I felt confident with my research, their advertisement, and my conversations with Joe that I was dealing with a good and solid, honest company.

I am single mother of two, working 40 hours a week with no other money available to purchase another car, or fix this matter myslef. North Coast Auto could really care less. I've emailed them three times and called at least a dozen, but to no avail.
