Automotive water pumps no quality control sends out known defective pumps ripoff

I bought a cardone brand water pump for my S-10 chevy from Murrays auto parts. After bolting the pump onto the engine I began to muscle the heater hose onto the heater outlet tube extending from the body of the pump. As I did that, the tube suddenly became loose from the pump body so I inspected it to find out what happened.

Now the heater hose tube is supposed to be tightly attached to the pump by way of friction fit I.E. Tightly pressed into the pump permanently. All this cardone pump had was a dab of adhesive holding it on and when I began to muscle on the flexible heater hose, the adhesive cracked and revealed a very loosely attached tube.

Thankfully I caught it since if it became detached afterwards while I was driving, my engine would have lost all the coolant almost immediately and I might have ended up with a burned up engine. What angers me is that the adhesive on the tube indicates to me that cardone knew the pump was defectively made and instead of rejecting it in production, simply glued in a tube and sent it out to a trusting public.

Stay away from cardone brand auto parts.
