Beware of WEAST TRANSMISSION in, NC

The first week of February, 1999 I had my 1994 Mitsubishi EXPO towed to WEAST Transmission for rebuild of the automatic transmission. On February 5, I picked up the car and paid the invoice of $1,071.62. Within two weeks the transmission failed again and was returned to WEAST Transmission. Between February and November 1999, Weast Transmission attempted to repair my transmission several times. Over that nine month period my car sat at Weast Transmission and I did not have use of it. I picked up my car for the last time during the first week of November 1999. One week later I was driving it to Raleigh and the transmission failed catistrophically.

I called Robby Weast and he agreed with me that I should take the car to Mitsubishi for repair and that I would get a refund under his warranty.

During November, December and January I got nothing but excuses about business being slow but no money. After repeated phone calls and visits I managed to get $100 on each of two visits. The next time I visited because I was told they would have money, it turned out they could not spare any for me. At that point I told Robby Weast that he was making me work too hard to get my money back and to contact me when he had the ballance. He agreed to that.

After getting nowhere with WEAST, I finally contacted the NC Justice Department and the BBB. Both wrote letters to WEAST but were ignored. Finally I went to small claims court an won a judgement. WEAST did not even show up.

The officer responsible for exicuting the judgement told me he has tried to collect on several judgements from WEAST with little success. WEAST lives in one county and works in another. They also rent their building so their is nothing to sell.
