Dishonest on truck driver employment varification

I was downgraded from a truck driver to plant labor from an incident that occurred. I was backing up off a scale that was snow covered at Traco, and the passenger steer tire slid off the scale. I attempted to get the tractor back on the scale, and the steer tire blew. I was told to leave it there with the trailer still attached until the next morning. Next morning I filled out accident report and signed.
My supervisor told me be more careful next time. As it turns out the following week they had me come in and demoted me from driving to plant labor position. A difference of $400 a week. I did this for awhile and I applied at another trucking company. My employer sent the verification form in and said this particular incident was DOT reportable.
Now I can't get another trucking position because of this. Isn't a DOT reportable if an injury happens to another person or if truck has to be towed away from the scene. I was in the Traco parking lot. Does any know if I can get a record of this, if it is not on my DAC report? Can anyone help me get back into a truck and do the job I love.
