Their bad a/c inspection almost cost me $1500.00, ripoff

So the a/c in my 2004 mitsu. Galant stops cooling. I take it to midas so they can run a "diagnostic test" (their price for that was cheap) report comes back as follows:

Service requests a/c inspection. Notes: found static pressure is at 70 psi. When the COMPRESSOR engages the pressures stay the same. RECOMMEND REPLACE COMPRESSOR.

Ok so how much to replace the compressor i ask. Well it's gonna be about $1500.00 they say. No thanks i say and i leave. Well i was about to go find an old fashion cigarette lighter fan but then i decided to call around and find a cheaper price.

The cheapest price to replace a compressor in town is $1200.00 i was really gonna give up UNTIL i lucked out and found a shop that would waive the fee for another diagnostic check if i had my car at the shop early in the morning so i did.

Turns out there is NOTHING wrong with the compressor there was a small leak and it was not really low but low enough to refill the freon. My a/c is freezing cold!!! No thanks to midas!!!
