Uses "remanufactured" parts to repair cars and claims they are "new" on the invoice

I bought a car at the Nashville Carmax in early 2007. The air conditioning did not work due to a failed compressor. They replaced the compressor and their invoice identified the replacement compressor part as "new". Their invoice goes on to say "all parts are new unless otherwise noted".
Less than 2 years and approximately 18,000 miles later their compressor failed. I had another company replace the compressor and save the failed Carmax compressor for me to examine. Clearly marked on the part was the label "REMANUFACTURED". They had installed a remanufactured used part, not a new one.
When I went to the Carmax Service Department and demanded they pay for the second repair they said they were not liable for the failed component. This is a ripoff.
