First and foremost, I freely admit, I made an impulse buy — always a bad idea. However, you know the old saying — fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!

I purchased a 2007 Honda CR-V in Nov for $30,000. This was not the original asking price. As others have previously commented, Vandergriff has a history of adding numerous unnecessary, way over-priced, and in my case, unwanted extras onto their vehicles. Only after much insistance on my part, did they agree to remove the $6,000 worth of wheels. But be aware, they will not remove the vast majority of their "extras."

In Feb (4 months later) I was generally unhappy with the vehicle. The quality and performance of this CR-V was not as good as in previous year models — a discussion for another forum. Because of good experiences with earlier year models, I decided to see if I could trade for an earlier year model. Vandergriff had a 2005 CR-V advertised on the internet that I thought was reasonably priced, so I decided to stop by and see what we could work out.

I won't bore you with the details, but previous postings on this dealership are accurate — and as you can immagine I had to endure several "let me talk to my manager" visits, a long wait, and what was most upsetting to me, outright deception.

I fully understand that any car depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot. But Vandergriff managers insisted that my brand new 2007 CR-V had "depreciated" $8,000 in 4 months. Anyone who knows Honda vehicles, knows that just isn't true. What's really amazing is that in all their "double talk" they admitted that the vehicle was over-priced when they sold it to me. When I pointed that out to them, their answer was that "We have customers that will pay the higher price, so that's what we sell them at." What's even more amazing is that the price they said was the true value of my 2007 CR-V happened to be almost exactly what they were asking for the used 2005 CR-V with over 35,000 miles, that I was interested in trading for.

Again, my mistake in buying the but be aware, Vandergriff Honda blatantly takes advantage of folks, they admitted it!!!
