Sport Honda
Sport Honda is deceptive, dishonest. My 2007 Honda Accord has problems

Cars & Transport

On or about February 6 I purchased a 2007 Honda Accord EX V6 at Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD. My car has roughly 700 miles.

I began having problems on Saturday February 24 with the engine light coming on. I immediately contacted Sport Honda and explained my dilema to the service advisor Ernest White. He informed me the car would be perfectly safe to continue to drive and not to worry. He then scheduled an appoitment for me to bring my car in on Monday the 26th of February.

Upon arriving at the dealership for my appointment, I did not have another vehicle to drive and I was told by Mr. White being I had a brand new car the issue should be minor and not take long to diagnose and repair. Three hours later I was informed that they were unable to diagnose the problem and would have to call California for clarification. I then was provided a loaner car. Several hours later I received a voicemail message stating that the fuel injectors were bad and they didn't know why.

I spoke with Mr. White several times and informed him I didn't want the vehicle if it had an issue with it and they didn't know how to resolve the issue so they then stated again they THOUGHT it was the fuel injectors and they had never seen this issue on a car with this low of mileage and were going to continue to try and resolve the issue.

The service manager called me and said they were going to replace the injectors to insure the problem did not persist and I told him I was unhappy and the only way to make me happy would be to provide me with a new car. The service manager told me he would call me back within 1 hour once he spoke with the sales manager after an hour I tried to phone the sales manager for about 2 hours to no avail. Finally I was able to reach the sales manager and he informed me he would extend by warranty from 36,000 miles (the factory warranty) to 100,000 miles because he noticed I didn't purchase the extended warranty.

Sound generous? Yes it does but why are they so willing to give me an extended warranty FREE for a car I purchased less than 3 weeks ago for $27,000.00 and has less than 700 miles. This would suggest to me that they feel they have sold me a LEMON.

After much thought and consideration I am thinking this new $27,000.00 vehicle must be a lemon. If the dealershipis so willing to now provide this warranty for free after attempting to sell it initally for about $2,000.
