Ripoff after repo California

My 2005 vehicle was repoed and I was never notified of the auction. I never heard from triad for months and finally a collection company calls me and request I pay the deficencey balance in full. I told to collection company that I believe the vehicle was repoed and sold illegally and I never heard from them again.

Now several months later I have been contacted by an attorney requesting the deficencey balance. The attorneys office refuses to send me any information and I have told them that I will not do anything unless I get something in writing from them. They threaten to file suit against me.

I have read my contract that I signed when I bought the vehicle and it clearly states that I had the right to redeem my vehicle prior to auction and it states that they would notify me prior to the sale and that was never done.

I would really be interested in the class action suit also so please let me know.
