Sold me a set of tires that were off balance and defective

I recently purchased a set of tires that were unable to be balanced and were defctive. All along they knew this because I later caught up with an employee that worked there. He knew of the situation and said he had refused to put them on and another employee went ahead and put them on because the owner told him to.
The employee said for me not to mention his name because the owner supposedly has a reputation for installing fear in his employees by either threatining to fire the employee or he stated other measures that envolved getting even through paycheck cut and if that dosent work as he stated (Good Ol Fashion *&* Whoopin).
I went back to try to get a refund and the owner DAVE was a complete *&*& and I had to leave after being screwed out of $900 for a set of *&*& tires that I later had verified that they were defective by another local tire chain.
