Engine and Transmission Failed After 3 Years, Still Owe 5,600

I purchased a vehicle through Citi Financial Auto. The vehicle lasted 3 years before the engine and the transmission gave out. The purchase price for the car was over 7,000, and I still owe 5,600, maybe a little more.

They called me for a payment, and I told them I couldn't afford to make any more payments on the car and also pay for repairs. I told them to come and pick the car up, and they refuse to come and get it. They are still calling my house asking for payments. I tell them every time they call that I can't make the payments because I am putting money out to get the car fixed. They told me that if I put the car into the shop, they would pay very little toward the car, and I would have to pay the rest.

I went to a mechanic to get an estimate on the car. He said it would cost around 1,500 to 2,000 to fix. Even if I get another car, I would still have to pay for the car I got from Citi Financial Auto, and it's not any good. If I got another car, I would have to make payments on it also. That would be very difficult on a fixed income, which is disability from Social Security once a month. What do you think I should do?
