Early Auto Loan Payoff Refused, Quoted 12,189.61 on May 23rd

I called Citifinancial to get a payoff. The payoff amount was 12,189.61 on May 23rd. The manager at Citifinancial said that they probably would not accept the payment because I am a new customer. I told him that there is no clause in my contract stating a penalty for paying the loan off early.

I spoke with the VP, and she said the exact same thing as the manager. The VP also said that I could not pay off my vehicle until June 7th, at which point the payoff would be 12,306.67.

I stated that I had the money to pay the account off in full the next day. Wells Fargo was going to overnight a check for 11,500, and they would have to debit my account on May 25th for the amount of $689.61.

Can anyone help me? Any advice?
