Ripoff dishonest fraddulent billing

May 22 I took my van to JMS Custom to have tires put on and told them it had been making a strange noise and would they please check it out. They did and said they had fixed the problem. I drove it off the lot and again it started making the same noise.

The next day I attempted to go to work. I made it just down the road when the noise grew louder and I could no longer steer the van. I called and had the van towed back.

This time they said the ball joint would need replaced and it would cost $325 because the arm would have to be replaced also. I called around to a few auto shops and found out the ball joint was only a 19.99 piece and the arm was seperate and would not have to be replaced.

I called JMS back and told them and he said okay they could replace the ball joint for $96. The van was to be done today, May 26. I called ahead and was told it was not done. The ball joint and the arm would have to be replaced because the arm was welded to the ball joint and again it would be $325.

I asked why they did not see this when they fixed the van the first time and his response was that it was not the problem then. That the tires I had him put on were too big for my van and that is what ruined the ball joint.

I then told him I knew the two pieces together were only $140 plus his fee (30 per hour, two hours to fix) $60 did not equal his $325. He informed me as of today they had raised thier fee to $40 per hour.

I hung up and thought about it and that still would not be $325 so I called him once more. He told me to hold and he would recheck his estemate. Ten minutes later he gets on the phone to tell me he doesnt know who I called but it was $200 just for the parts. We argued over it for a few minutes then he told me to bring him $60 for his time and pick up my van. He was not interested in fixing it and hung up.

I tried my local BBB but was unable to speak with anyone. I called JMS back and told them I would be up to have my van towed but I was not paying him anything. He then told me I had to pay the $60 for them towing to the shop on the 22nd and the van was locked up till Tuesday, May 30.

I refuse to pay them another cent. They have screwed up my van even more and have just given me the run around trying to continue to screw me over.

I want my van back before something else mysteriously goes wrong.
