Reviva
Misleading The Consumer When I purchased engine I was told that there was a 6 mo return policy and a 2 year warranty. After purchase they said they were not going to take it back nor warranty it.internet

Cars & Transport

I purchased a Navistar IDI 7.3L Engine from Reviva through their local distributer Gomer's Diesel on 3/23/06. The engine was recieved on 4/12/06. I called Reviva on 5/3/06 to see about returning the engine and I was told that they would take it back if the distributer clears it.

They said that they had a 6 month return policy on all engine purchases and I would have to pay a $150 restocking fee and the shipping charges to send it back. I called the distributer on 5/4/06 and I was told that it would be ok to return it if Reviva clears it. I called Reviva back and confirmed that return was cleared. On 5/8/06 I called the distributer and was told that Reviva said no on the return because they were no longer manufacturing that engine anymore.

I then immediately called Reviva and they said that they could not accept a return on this engine any longer because they were no longer manufacturing it and I asked to speak to a manager. I was transferred to "Scott & Larry's" cell phone#. I aasked to speak to the warranty dept. They explained to me that since they would no longer be manufacturing this engine they could no longer uphold their "advertised" warranty which is 2 yrs unlimited mileage on complete drop in configurations and 1 yr on fuel systems and some components. If I had known that they would come back and revoke my warranty or their return policy after I made the purchase, I wouldn't have made it in the first place.
