Thieves ripoff

Took a 2001 IHC down to McCandless IHC to find out why the engine had a dead miss. The vehicle had just shy of 100,000 miles. Anyone who knows about large DT466 engine knows they usually live 250-350 thousand miles.

Well getting back to the matter at hand. The truck sat down at McCandless for 2 weeks. After many phone calls to Albert to find out just what was going on. They sent me an estimate for a new engine.

10,000 dollars. WTF! I told Al to just wrap it up and I was comming to get it. I got the truck back to one of my shops and had a Tech II do a quick compression test. We found 2 weak cylinders. Now I am thinking. Uh oh. Maybe McCandless was right!

NAH! What am I thinking. LOL! I told my tech to take off the valve covers. HOT DAMN! Found 2 bent push rods. Still don't know why they bent (drivers hot rodding my trucks?) but I replaced the 2 push tubes and the truck runs hard and fast!

Be warned. McCandless is known to be less then honest. Use them at your own risk. They will even come back at you for $ a year after the repairs. That is another story for another day.
