Vandalism to my car when it was being "evaluated" for a trade-in ripoff

Responding to a TV ad for a $10,000 "discount" on a new 2005 Ford Pickup, I took my 2000 X5 BMW SUV in to make a trade in deal. My car was in fine condition and everything was working fine.

We filled out paperwork, noting the mileage of my BMW
at 104,845. It was clearly visible on the odometer. I was left sitting alone for nearly one hour and a half while one of the manager's took my car for a "test evauation" to see what could be offered on a trade in. Book value is about $15,000 on this model/year. Fully loaded, car in good shape.

The price of the new truck was about "$17,000". Bottom line offer came back: I was offered only $7,000
on my trade in because: "the speedometer could not be read, the engine light was on, and there was a noise under the hood".

I had none of those problems when I drove onto the lot. They tampered with the car so that they could cheat me out of several thousand dollars worth of value and then refix it after I left and sell at an enormous profit. The price of my deal would be $36,000 plus! I saw through the cheat and immediately reported it to Norton Police and will be filing with the Better Business Bureau and writing to the CEO of Ford Motor
Company.

I took the BMW to another dealer the same day, in the condition it was damaged and was only offered $8,000 due
to the engine light, speedometer problem and noise under the hood. Had it been working they would have given me at least $11,000 for it. So I lost $3,000 in value due to the tampering done by Ganley Ford.

I chose to keep the BMW and not trade it at all under the
circumstances. I went back to Ganley and offered to let them "put it back the way they found it" before picketing their company for the "rest of my life"... But they refused.

Buyer Beware! These folks are outright dangerous theives.

Never again, will I let any car dealer take my car for "evaluation" without riding along!
