Ripoff-refuse to honor settlement offe

I received a settlement offer from Ford Motor Credit Co. Unfortunately a check was already in the mail. I called M. Santibanez and stated that I would accept their offer and rather than stopping payment on the check and issuing a new one woukld they just refund the difference. They decided to just keep the overpayment and refuse to discuss the issue, threatening me with lawyers.
