Recall leads to ripoff

Cars & Transport

My 2 year old Nissan was recalled for a catalytic converter. The service advisor suggested that I get a $127.00 fuel injector flush now, or soon, to prevent the new catalytic converter from fouling. The car had 13,648 miles on it. It runs fine. I said go ahead and do the flush.

My research since then indicates that this is a useless service for a vehicle that is not having problems. I called the dealer before the service department closed to complain and got the supervisor's answering machine. It was late so I don't know yet if someone will call back tomorrow.
