Grossinger Autoplex
Deceptive Salesmen Managers ripoff

Cars & Transport

I went online to view used cars and I saw a few at Grossingers site. I saved them, and then I narrowed my choices down to the cars. I was interested in a 2001 VW Jetta GLX, and a 2000 Nissan Maxima. I contacted my credit union and applied for a loan. I was approved. I emailed the Grossinger internet manager named Sargon Escho. He invited me to come in for a test drive.

I went to the Grossinger dealership on 6900 N McCormick Blvd. At the time I went in I had not received further information from my credit union, anyway, I went in and told them that I was an internet customer and that I was looking for Mr. Escho or his assistant George. They then paged their internet person.

I told him about the cars that I had viewed online and eve showed him the cars that I had downloaded from their site. The salesman was named Naeem. The vehicles that he brought up on the computer were much higher. I showed him what I had viewed. He told me that they sold cars very fast.

We went out to the lot and I test drove 2 cars. I drove a 2001 Toyota Corolla which was nice. Naeem stated that I should make an offer and that he would take the offer to his manager named Robert. Both of my offers were rejected.$13,532.00 was the total price. I informed them that I had not been approved for such a high amount. They were very eager for me to finance through them, despite the fact that if I would have been approved for this amount, they would have received payment in full.

I informed them that I would have to take it to my credit union. I signed some papers, thta I believed would be used to finance through them in case my credit union would not. The finance mananger said that I could bring in the check from the credit union in a week. I did not take the car with me. They still have it.

For some reason I felt a need to see if in fact the vehicles that I had viewed had indeed been sold. They had not been sold. My loan rep from my credit union informed me that the car was worth only $9,000.00.

Furthermore, I emailed the internet manager and he informed me that he did not work at the McCormick Blvd. Dealership. He was located at 7200 N. Cicero Ave. I explained to him that when I went in I specifically asked for him, and told them that I was an internet customer.

He informed me that the differences in the complexes were that the managers were different and that they were still a part of the Grossinger Auto Group as a whole.

No one at the McCormick Blvd. Site ever attempted to point me in the right direction, to the proper Grossinger auto site. The scam started as soon as I came through the door.

I went back last Friday, 16 Sep 2005. I spoke to Robert who quickly downplayed his management credentials. He told me that I would have to talk with the business manager and the finance manager, he quickly added that they could finance me, even after I had informed him of the cars true value, which he probably knew all along.

I told him that I was no longer interested in the car and that I wanted my credit card credited in the amount of $1179.80. After this he informed me that the two people that could approve it were gone for the week end. He said that I could schedule a meeting for the following Monday. When I went in the dealership, I first went to the business managers office, he pointed me away from him to Robert.

I decided against a meeting. These are skilled con artists. They knew that I had gone to the wrong site. The salesman Naeem "callled in" last Friday so he was not available.

I went to a web site that rates dealers. I wish that I would have visited the sight first. There were multiple complaints against the McCormick Blvd. Site.
