Ripoff the business that doesnt give a dam

After heavy negotiations with a salesman at this dealership, we agreed on a price, and he proceeded to fax me a purchase order. The purchase order was needed for my credit union, as I was already pre-approved for financing through them, and all I needed was the PO to have them issue a check.

Well, the next day I went to my credit union (and the salesman knew I already had an appointment), and proceeded to seal the deal. My credit union rep noticed that the PO was not signed by the manager, so she called and had him fax a signed copy.

This was another indication for the salesman that I was getting the check for the dealership. He resent the PO, but with a hand written note stating "subject to prior sale."

I immediately noticed the note, and called to ask what that meant. He said just in case someone buys the car before you get here, and asked what day I was coming. I said Sat. (2 days after), and he agreed.

I had no reason to think that the dealership wouldn't hold the car, especially after the Credit Union called them.

Well, after I got the check, my husband called the dealership and it informed him that the car I just got the check for was being sold!!!

No one let me know that the car was being looked at by another person, and the credit union rep told the salesman that the check was be issued.

I sat there with a check in the amount of the purchase order, with no car.
Bad Business!!!
