Ripoff Dishonest on vehicle conditions

Aug 23 purchased a Honda Accord from this man, whom I found on Autotrader.com. He claimed there were NO LEAKS WHATSOEVER on the vehicle, and that there were NO a/c problems. The next day, no a/c. Took it to a VERY reputable shop in Raleigh, they stated that the a/c system could not hold a charge overnight, and that the engine coolant was leaking at the rate of about a gallon a day (water pump)

I confronted Mr. Thorne about this, he once again claimed NO LEAKS, NO PROBLEMS. The shop I took the car to stated that he would have had to refill antifreeze at least twice a month, and that it was OBVIOUS that he had been refilling the freon because of dye stains all over the engine. Mr. Thorne stated that this was his daily driver since March, and that he had never had to refill ANY fluids.

He claims to be a private individual selling (which is what his ad said too) but at the DMV after I had given him the money and the paperwork was finished, he had me sign a dealer release form. Makes me wonder if he is in fact a dealer, can't find more info on this.

Small claims suit is now against him for 1,302, which is the exact amount of the repairs. Court is today, we shall see what happens.
