Bought a buy here/pay here lemon, sold my loan to a finance company Ripoff

Cars & Transport

I bought a 1998 ford countourless than 2 months ago, less than 24 hours after i bought it i brought it back becase when:
1) sitting idling it fills the car wit a burnt oil smell
2) the door / seatbelt warning chimes come on and off while driving for no reason
3) it was using 1-2 quarts of oil a day!
After being told all these problems were from using the wrong type of oil, the salesman added some "no smoke" oil additive.

And told me to drive it for a couple days. Salesman said they would take care of the problems.

The next day the car wouldnt start at all, the day after this it miracoulously started again and drove as before (door chimes, oil cosumption, oil smell) but left me stranded 3 times over the weekend. Finally the dealer told me to have it towed to their mechanic. Once again the said that thay would take care of it. While its sitting in the shop (over a week before even being able to find the problem) i get notified that AUTOWORLD has sold my account to CAR FINANCIAL SERVICES.

A week and a half later i go to check on my car and am told i owe $490, i immediately go to the car lot and am told that that is not correct and they give me a battery to give to the shop (Elite tire) i'm told that i now owe $190, (supposedly it was a shorted wire, bad battery and bad alternator causing all these problems) i paid the money hoping that at least everything might be fixed. The car didn't even make the 2 mile drive to my house. The speedometer didn't work, the gas light was going on and off, and the car died and wouldn't restart. Elite tire sent one of there "mechanics" out to jump start it and we tried to drive it back to the shop, it dies again along the way. Another week and i get it back again supposedly the alternator they put on it was also bad. This time i talk to the dealer and ask about trading the car back in to them for something else, i was told its "not our problem" and that it was sold AS-IS even though i received a warranty and did not have to sign the usual as is window sticker. Less than a week after the car was bacvk from the shop (only driven twice since i'm afraid to drive it) the car dies completely, it starts running really rough and backfiring and will not start leaving me stranded again (total of 7 times!) i have now dropped the keys off at the dealer and told them to take their car back, even though it will now be a repossession on my credit and i have to buy another car after having spent over $2000 in the last month and a half on this car.

The salesmen have beeen extremely rude and unhelpful.
