Ok, so i went to buy a new car. It was half impulse, and half i knew i wanted to get one. I drove around to different dealers and at the third or fourth one, JR's, i saw a cavalier i liked. The dealer said i could get it in any color and anything added i wanted. I was trying to keep it under 13,000 and after looking at a list of vehicles they could get, i settled on a rally yellow 2004 cavalier that was in Illinois.

They went to pick it up and they were backing out of one spot and another guy was backing out of another and they tapped bumpers. It cracked my back bumper and chipped the paint on it. They showed it to me before i took it so i would know and they said they'd have another bumper in the next day and they'd paint it and put it on when i brought it in.

I also wanted a cd player put in it b/c this one just had an am/fm radio. They set up an appointment with Dr. Dashboard in Terre Haute, IN and added it all in the final total. So i stopped in and had it put in there and had JR's put the bumper on. Then the problems started.

The bumper didn't match the rest of the car. It was a much darker yellow. Also, when i drove at night, it was blowing the fuse that ran the dashlights and the taillights. I took it back and they said they'd repaint the bumper and look at the fuse problem.

They said they went through the car completely and that the fuse wasn't on GM's end and they'd have to send it back to Dr. Dashboard's. The bumper was also still not matched right.

Dr. Dashboard went through the car and sent it back and JR's told me it was fixed. They said they would be a little while longer b/c they still couldn't quite get the paint matched.

I took the car with the old bumper on it again and found out that night that the fuse was still causing problems. So, i took it back, they sent it to Dr. Dashboard's and they sent it back again. The bumper still wasn't ready and the fuse was still blowing.

JR's went through it again, and figured out that, oh, it was GM's end. It was a faulty light switch. And after a few weeks, they finally got the paint matched. So i finally get my car back from all the work, and when i opened my trunk, i saw that they left the carpeting pulled back from the sides AND they left the taillights UNPLUGGED! I was MAD!

So, in re-cap, i bought a it had problems before i got it, and after i got it for almost 2 months. I made my first loan payment on it while they had it. They switched me around in like 5 loaner vehicles.

So, after all this, i asked my salesman if i could get a spoiler for compensation for all the time and he said i'd have to take it up with the head guy.

I called like three times before he was finally in. When you call for him, his secretary takes your name at the beginning of all of it. Then when he got on the phone, i told him my name and the whole story and asked for a spoiler. He said there was no way he could do that.

So i asked him if he could have a check for me and i'd bring the car back. He said, "are you threatening me jason?". I said, well, at the beginning of the conversation i told you my name was justin and if thats what it means to get my money back then yes. He said i'd just have to take it up with GM.

I got GM's number and called and a lady said it'd be like 3 weeks and i was like ok, just let me know. 4 weeks later, i call back and of course i didn't have her ext b/c i assumed she'd call me back.

I talked to another guy and he said i could go two ways: i could get her ext and talk to her or he could take over and it'd be another 3 weeks. I got her ext and called her and left a message on her voice mail and asked her to please call me and let me know what was going on.

Two days later, i called again and asked even nicer to just call and let me know whats going on. When she didn't call back w/in 3 days or so, i gave up.

4 weeks later, the guy calls back and says that he took over and all GM could offer was one year tire rotation or one year oil change. I have an uncle that runs a gas station and changes my oil... Didn't need that. I also have another uncle in the tire business, so again, didn't need that. I asked if there was anything else and the answer was no. That was the end of the conversation.

So, i started a campaign against JR's. I wrote on the windows with glass chalk and put the whole story on a transparency inside on my windshield. I work at Clinton Wal-mart which is like a 1/4 mile from the dealership. So i parked my car by the highway everyday i worked.

They finally called high enough up the ladder. The district manager for wal-mart called my store manager's and told them to tell me this: since he is an intern for management, it is setting a bad example for the rest of the associates. Tell him to clock out and wash his car and not to come back until its gone.

So, for now, i'm not doing anything. I'm only in the internship for school. So in may i'll be out of it and will be back to writing on my car. I'm very unhappy with the dealership and have even sent out mass emails about it and keep coming up with more and more ideas to stand up to them and pass word of mouth.

Many people praised me when it was on my car b/c they too had problems with the dealership and was proud to see someone standing up to them.
