2005 Ford Escape Transmission issues - 2005 Ford Escape

Cars & Transport

Had to have transmission replaced on my 2005 Ford Escape with 86867 miles in June. Spent $3,400 for a new transmission with a warranty of 3 years/100,000 miles. Fast forward to April mileage is now 146385, not even 60000 miles on the new transmission and now a band is broken in the transmission (either overdrive band or reverse band). Dealer will have to take apart the entire transmission and won't know if anything else was affected. Dealer estimated repair at $2100 or get another new transmission. I called Ford Customer Line and all I get is "Well, I'm sorry, the transmission is out of warranty". THere is nothing they can do. When I search the Internet, there are many transmission issues on a lot of Ford Escapes. My husband bought a 2012 Ford Escape and he already had to take it in for transmission sensors adjustments. THank goodness it is still under warranty. I work for a company that is a supplier to Ford Motor Company and I will NEVER buy another Ford again.
