I have a 2011 Mustang Convertible with a rear window defroster that has stopped working. The car has 17,000 miles and is still under warranty. I brought it into Ford for service and to repair the defroster. One of the electrical connections had fallen off. The Ford dealer attempted to repair it but was unsuccesfull. It turns out to repair it the entire convertible roof must be replaced as the window is molded into the roof (poor design). The dealer is in agreement with me that it doesn't appear the connection was broken off by me. Ford, however says after viewing pictures provided by the dealer, that it appears I damaged it and wont cover the repair. I don't understand how the dealer can come to one conclusion and Ford another. Also, if it was apparent that it was broken off by me why attempt a repair in the first place. As you can imagine I'm not a very happy Ford customer at this point. Ford did offer to provide me a loan for the over $2000 that the new roof would cost. That's real nice of them!
