Poor Service Would be an Upgrade

I enjoy writing good reviews to help local businesses - this is not one of them. I had a flat tire and went to Bemis. I was informed that all my tires are in need of replacement. While I received quotes of $9990 and $1100 for all four, I asked that they just replace the one tire. The tire was to be delivered in the afternoon so I was driven home about 10:30. I received no call. When I finally called, the service dept had closed for the day. Person I talked to knew nothing about the service dept, so I didn't know if there were more problems or issues. While I planned to reschedule a few appts for the day, I had no idea my car would be held overnight - and I had an appt in West Chicago at 7:30 AM the next day - when the service dept reopened. Again no call in the AM, so I called. Tire hadn't arrived yet. Waited until later in the morning, "the tire will be here at lunch time.' At 3PM still no call, I called. Several people handed the phone around, before someone went in back to check. They were just finishing the lug nuts. They said it is just finishing and sent a shuttle for me. 10 min later I get a call that my car is ready. Yea I knew that already. I believe I know the estimate but ask about the price. The price was almost 3x the quote. I ask why!!! They replaced two tires. Why? Well all the tires are bad and we suggest you replace at least two at a time. But I only asked for one 1. Because the price they quoted me was too high, 2. I could go have (Should have) gone to a tire store or even Walmart for tires 30% cheaper and have them installed in an hour. So not only did I get something I specifically did not want, hence a larger bill which strained my budget and lose work for two days for a simple 1 tire replacement. I was seriously screwed. Manager didn't seem to care or reply with much interest. No answer to why I was never called - Wed PM to give updates, Wed by close time to say they need to keep the car, TH AM at any point to say there was a delay to get tires to them. Very frustrating, disappointing. When they asked me if they could have shuttled me someplace while I waited for my car, I should have asked them to take me to a tire place so I could get a cheaper tire that I could have picked up and returned with and gotten my car. I've since learned of other people's issues with this business. They may be one of the biggest in the area but they forgot how to offer service, respect and honestly. You'll thank me for steering you away from a bad experience.
