Don Brown Chevrolet, Don Brown's extended warranty ripoff

Cars & Transport

Hi, I'm Andrew,

Recently I purchased a vehicle from Don Brown Chevrolet and along with a recommended one year bumper to bumper warranty. They have a problem with honoring the warranty. Less than a month into ownership I brought them a list of the things that were going wrong with the vehicle:
1. Brake pedal goes to the floor, and it takes a long time for vehcle to come to a complete stop;
2. The heat and air operate while the button is in the "off" position and will blow heat or cold air depending on where the temperature gauge is set;
3. The vehicle started burning an excessive amount of fuel and the motor misses while it runs in idle (it needs a tune-up);
4. The shocks no longer absorb shocks from the smallest of bumps or imperfections in the street, in fact it feels as if the vehicle is going to shake/break apart at the wheels;
5. The front wiper blade motor stopped working;and The 10 disc CD changer that the sales tlaked so much about doesn't work.

When I took the vehicle to them the first time they told me to come back in two days and they would have some one look over for me and as far as the disc changer goes, " there's nothing we can do about that, you might want to take it to and audio shop". However, I told them that I needed a loner car because I wasn't going to drive a vehicle without wipers and failing brakes in the rain. The following evening they said my vehicle was ready and everything checked out fine. They replaced the wiper motor and made an adjustment to the brakes. The brake adjustment was temporary and the other problems still existed so I took it back to them a second time along with a list of the problems which included the fact that the brakes were back to their previous failing conditions, this time they give me a loner car and call me the next day saying that every thing was checked out and that the vehicle is ready. This time I ask them to give me some service paperwork to show that they did the work and they refused to give me any. Needless to say I brought the vehicle back two days later because the brakes are still failing to work properly and the other initial problems still have never been addressed.

The first time I brought my problems in they sent me to AutoTire who contracted with them to do their service work while their mechanics were on strike, the second time I came in they sent it to their mechanics who were back to wirk, and the last time I went in they told me to go to AutoTire and ask them about the work they were supposed to had done. Still they didn't have any paper work for me that documented the work had been done.

The salesman Kip offered me an opportunity to get another vehicle since this one was having so many problems but was quick to add in that it would cost me about $3000.00 cash up front to pay the difference in cost. I want them to either fix this vehicle or allow me to get another one that is equal or similar and in good running condition under the same contract.
