Clover Chevrolet
's High Price Ripoff. They sold me a lemon for way too much

Cars & Transport

Clover Chevrolet is a dealership in the small town that I used to live in. Many people I know had bought cars from them and had told me not to buy from them. I thought that I would give them a chance. They seemed to be nice people.

On September 20 I went to the dealership to purchase a vehicle. It was a 2001 Chevy Cavalier LS with only 14,000 miles on it. It seemed to be in good condition so I decided to make the purchase. The only thing was they didn't really tell me the price of the vehicle. All they said was that my payments would be around $281. That didn't sound that bad.

All was well until I got my first payment in the mail. The price of the vehicle was over $14,000. I could have bought a new vehicle for that amount. What was I thinking. Then I began to have problems with it.

Their was a vibration in the steering wheel, the brakes went out, their was a whistling in the engine around 2,000rpm. How could this be happening to me. First the vehicle was overpriced and then it was giving me problems. I called the dealership about the problems and took it to have it repaired.

They kept the car for 3 days and when I went to pick it up they told me that they could not find any problems. I took the car back one more time and got the same results. Nothing. Finally I called General Motors and they told me to take it back again. I did so, and once again they told me that their were no problems with the vehicle.

You can imagine how I felt, paying all this money for a lemon. Soon I met the previous owner of the car and she told me that she had had the same problems with the vehicle and finally traded it in. The only problem with that was I owe to much money on the vehicle.

I make little money and expect to get what I pay for and it didn't happen. Recently my mother bought a 2003 model Cavalier and it was only $15,000. She also got a $4,000 rebate so the vehicle only cost her a total of $11,000. That made me angry.

The Kelley Blue Book value of my vehicle is little over $5,000. At the rate it's going I will never get a new one, but one thing is for sure, I will never buy another vehicle from Clover Chevrolet.
