Credit Acceptance Corporation
Consumer Finance, Will Rip You Off, Will Sell You A Lemon Vehicle, Beware!

Cars & Transport

I bought a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier from Monarch Auto Sales in 2004 which was financed through Credit Acceptance Corporation. I have had nothing but problems with it since the 1st week I bought it. At the time I purchased the vehicle, I was advised that it would be in my best interest to purchase the warranty with it as well; which I did as I was advised that it would cover various repairs to the vehicle. Needless to say, 4 days after I purchased the vehicle, I had to take it to the dealership, because the vehicle was making a clicking noise when you turned the steering wheel. The Chevrolet dealership looked at it and advised me that the steering column was broke and I would have to have it replaced. I explained that I had a warranty and when I showed the shop manager at the Chevrolet dealership my warranty paperwork, he laughed. He said that the warranty that I bought was worthless and I just wasted my money in his opinion. He said that he was almost certain that the warranty company would not cover the repairs to my vehicle. Of course, he was right. When he called them, they said that the repairs to my vehicle were not covered under my warranty. After that experience, I have had nothing but problems out of my vehicle. I have paid to have the steering column fixed and I have replaced the brake pads and rotors more times than I can count. The defrost does not work on the car. I paid to have the heating/air conditioning fixed after I had the vehicle two (2) months as it just quit working. I have paid to replace the head gasket two (2) times. The transmission is bad and needs to be replaced. The torque converter is bad and needs to be replaced. The wiring in the trunk of the vehicle is bad and therefore, the left hand turn signal and brake lights never work unless you replace the bulb daily. None of these repairs were covered under the warranty I purchased as each time I had to repair the vehicle, I called the warranty company and each time I was advised that it would not be covered under warranty. I have told Credit Acceptance about the problems with my vehicle on numerous occasions, but they do not want to hear it. I was sold a lemon and I feel that others should be aware of how Credit Acceptance operates, so they too will not be ripped off like I was.
