Reginald D And Managers Of KFC
Employee ripoff Failure to return exact change with intent to steal

Cafes, Bars, Restaurants

I pulled into the KFC at 117-05 Francis Lewis Boulevard, St. Albans, NY, to use the drive thru after work this evening on the way to my fiance's house in St. Albans.

I ordered # 3 which I had to change to # 2 because I was told there were no more strips and placed a twenty dollar bill under the tray of the revolving window. The cashier (Reginald D whose name appears on the receipt) returned a five dollar bill with sixty-five cents change. I picked it up, showed it to him and said, I gave you a twenty dollar bill. He turned the window around a couple of times and said, Oh, okay. Why don't you pull over into the parking lot, I'll send someone out with the rest of your change.

I pulled over and waited for at least half an hour and no one came out, so I parked and went inside to get the rest of my change; however, at that point, the cashier said, I gave you fifteen dollars and sixty-five cents. I was shocked and said, I showed you the five dollar bill.

I asked to see the manager who would not come to the front of the store but had me yelling to him through the window while he stood several feet away not facing me to make sure I could not see his name on the nametag. He told me to check inside of the bag and see if the cashier put the rest of the change there. He then asked if I wanted ten dollars worth of food.

I told him that I wanted the rest of my change. All the while he and the other employees were laughing and making fun of me. I told him that I would have to call the police. He told me to go ahead that they couldn't do anything.

I did call the police, and they told me that I had to file a claim in small claims court. I left and went home. I would also like to point out that neither the manager nor the cashier or any other employee who spoke to me would give me their names. There were two men and two women.

I have enclosed a copy of the receipt.

I am an area manager at Central Parking System and earn in excess of $50,000 annually. My fiance is a college professor and earns more than I. We are both hardworking college-educated professionals in the service industry who treat people with respect and courtesy.

There's no reason that I would make up a story about ten dollars or take the time to write this letter after working fourteen hours, except that I am appalled at being so violated and am requesting immediate action to make up for this violation as well I am requesting immediate action toward the St. Albans store and it's employees.
