Much ado about nothing

These people do an "intake, " then, based on the information you provide, congratulate you for qualifying for their services, and payment is arranged. The intake includes information about your mortgage, you employment status and income, payment history, etc.

There is occasional requests for documentation, and payment is made before anything is done, but you will be reassured that everything will go smoothly since your "intake" identified you as a candidate with a high likelihood of benefitting from the offered services.

In my case, after taking a loan against my 401K and waiting 6 months, I was informed by the mortgage holder that I didn't qualify for a poan modification because my mortgage payment didn't constitute a large enough percentage of my income. This is a math prob;em a 6th grader could do, if he or she understood that a simple matter of percentage qualified or disqualified someone from the modification process. That was the information I provided, and upon which I was congratulated for qualifying for the services for which Forest was paid $3400.

To have failed to report during that first phone call that my income to mortgage payment ratio would ultimately result in my loss of $3400 was at best due to incompetence. It was at worst criminal, and it was certainly dishonest and unethical, either way. Either they didn't know, and are incompetent and unworthy of anyone's business, or they knew, and charged me for something they knew they couldn't actually provide.instead I wasted a fair amount of time and money, that Forest ndoubtedly knew right from the beginning would lead to failure.
