Do not get sick with this pharmacy!

Caremark has the worst customer service I have ever seen. I had a stomach ulcer earlier this year for which my MD prescribed me Carafate 1 gm QD. I was on the medication for 2 months, well 3 months is the "magic" number that Caremark considers certain medicines to be considered maintenance. I really didn't think anything of it because I got better and was taken off the medicine. Well, the ulcer returned and my MD has put me back on the medicine. I went to fill it and couldn't because you have to mail order the medicine. I called Caremark to see if they would let me go ahead and fill one month and then mail order any refills. No way and they wouldn't budge. So I am to delay treatment for 2 weeks and be in pain while I wait for you to ship me the medicine? That's ridiculous! I'm an RN, BSN and that's just setting you up for a lawsuit. All you need is for someone to get sick and die because they couldn't get their medicine.

State of FL employees are switching to Medco January 1st, and I phoned them and explained the situation. They said they would be more than happy to let me fill one month and then mail order the rest. Now that is customer service. Take a lesson Caremark!
