Nco Financial Systems
Ripoff with dishonest billing and excessive percent of interest charges and adding another account onto my existing account

Business & Finance

I was sent to this collection agency, NCO Financial Sysyems in Sept. Of 2003 because of a hospital bill. I have their original letter saying my account was sold to them and they would accept a lump sum payment if it was paid in 30 days or I could pay the total amount instead.

I made payment arrangements with this company and have been paying on this account since February and when I first received the notice from this agency I only owed one amount and for one account, but NOW for some strange unknown reason I MYSTERIOUSLY OWE FOR TWO accounts! They are charging me 12% on the first account and 6% on the "unknown" second account. The real kicker is, the original total amount of the bill was 241.10 but they would accept 156.72 as a lump sum payment. I opted for the every month payment plan. I have called them on numerous occasions and have sent them letters asking for dates of service, physicians names and places of services rendered on this second account.

They cannot and have not answered my questions. But they have in fact harassed me numerous times on the phone as well as in the mail asking how I intend to pay this account and what type of payment arrangements I would like to make to pay this account off. I also have received phone calls saying they never received my payments when I have copies in my checkbook and I can and have gotten copies for them in the past from my bank. As a matter of fact they just called me this past Friday saying they hadn't received any payment and what type of payment arrangements would I like to make to pay on this account and I told them I sent a payment on the 21st of Sept., and that I already had a payment plan set up.

The payment had in fact cleared the bank because I checked to make sure and he said "Oh ya, I see it now, sorry". I have paid these people 70.00 to date which in a perfect world would bring my account balance to approximately 170.00 but I NOW owe them for 2 accounts in the amount of 516.34. The total that I owe now far exceeds the original amount of 241.10. The totals they say I currently owe are 167.00 plus 94.52 in interest and the 2nd "unknown" account is 219.00 plus 35.90 in interest totalling 516.34. HOW do I now owe almost twice as much as the original billing amount for only one original account?

Now please explain to me where this second account came from after all this time and how can they charge interest on a hospital bill??? I am willing to pay them the original amount of 241.10 minus the 70.00 I have already paid them but I REFUSE to pay interest on a hospital bill!!!
