Ameriline
Ripoff credit card phone scam deceptive

Business & Finance

On Tuesday I recieved a phone call from someone offering me a $1000 Mastercard, which included, AAA service for one year, a $100 credit to some online store and counseling (?). I had a bad connection so I didn't quite get the last part. The gentlemen was very nice in telling me about the $199 one time activation fee that I could pay at my convenience. So, I continued to listen to his speech. I then interupted him and asked what the interest rate was, he told me that it was a variable interest rate depending on how much money I took out. I told him that was a little confusing but he let me know that would all be explained in my packet that I recieved.

I then asked me my middle initial to put on the card, I told him that I did not have one (I really do). He asked me several times for this but I assured him that I did not want one on the card. He then asked me for the name of the street for my bank. I told him that I had no idea, so he let me know that I could simply look on my bank statement, he could hold while I got this. So, I asked him why he would need any information about my banking. He said it was for verification purposes. I told him that I did not think he needed that information. He let me know that when I got the packet in the mail from him it would have an 800 number to cancel my card at anytime.

So, I let him know that I have no intentions on getting a Mastercard that would want my bank information, because I am not authorizing ANY money to come out of my account. So, he gave me the phone number 1-416-789-7795 to call just in case I changed my mind. I then asked him the name of his company and he gave it to me as Ameriline. I looked up the website and the only information they have is for refunds. I did not get scammed by him because I have read other peoples reports on this site and thought that I would let others know about this company. I know for a fact that NO legitimate company would just give me a credit card, and not charge me $199 fee! I knew as soon as he offered me a card it was a scam! I just wanted to get as much information from him as I could so I could report them here!
