Ripoff

I received a phone call from a Kristina stating that I have been pre-approved for a credit card and that all she needed to do was verify that I had a valid and good checking account. I asked her where she got my information and she said from another credit card company where I was denied or it was a high interest rate. I asked her if they had a fax number because I did not feel comfortable giving that information over the phone and I asked her for their website so I could check them out. She gave it to me and then I asked her to hold for a minute and she was gone. I came to work and looked them up on the internet and found that this was a scam and thank god I didn't give her any information.
