Business & Finance

I recently received a local publication called "The Flyer" that listed an opportunity to work from home manufacturing various products. An opportunity to work flexible hours at my leisure sounded great. I called the phone number and spoke to a woman named Jan, which turned out to be the call center operator supervisor, that explained to me that they work with a network of verified and reputable companies that provide individuals the opportunity to manufacture their products from home. She said there was a wood-crafting company that needs assemblers to put their precut and predrilled jewelry boxes together. She stated all they do is send you out the products, no need to purchase anything, you assemble them and mail them directly to the company with the self-addressed prepaid shipping label.

Well, it sounded great. All I had to do was pay the $50.95 fee for their company and that was it. They would send me the catalog with the companies they worked with, and I just contact them directly to get started.

I got the catalog, don't see the company Jan spoke of and now see that all of the companies in their network require you to pay for something, whether it be sample's, training kits, starter kits, etc.

I called in just to inquire about the company Jan was referring to in our conversation and Jan the call-center supervisor immediately became argumentative about what SHE stated in our conversation. She stated that she told me about additional costs, keep in mind I recorded the conversation as i always do when there's a chance I may get ripped off, she didn't. She was arguing right from the beginning and as I tried to speak, she kept trying to talk over me. I said "Jan, I'm trying to find the company you were referring to in our initial conversation" and while I was speaking she was interrupting and getting defensive. I said, "Jan, it's extremely rude that you're insisting on speaking..." CLICK... Jan hung up on me. I called back in and asked to speak to Jan's supervisor and they notified me that Jan is the supervisor. Haa haaa haa. Unbelievable. I said OK. Put me through to good ole Jan again. Spoke to Jan and guess who hung up on me again?

Jan explained to me during our initial conversation that if I'm not satisfied I can call back for a full refund. Well, I asked for a refund when I called back in and they said I have to refer to page 6 of the catalog for refunds. Absolutely not what was discussed with me. I called the number the catalog refers to and there is a recording. Doesn't even discuss refunds. I did speak to a woman named Raynel that said she would pass my concern to upper-management to get back to me within 24 to 48 hours. So we'll see if maybe Jan was just an isolated incident.

This company may be legitimate but their sales tactics are undoubtedly deceptive, their staff is unprofessional, and from what I've read with other reviews, I'm not the only person tom fooleried.
