In August Mike Lupima, a sales person from Retriever processing company stopped by my store to explain his services. I opened a small boutique in 2007 and thought it may be time to check the rates of another processing company. After spending about 45 minutes with my husband reviewing my current processing company statement, Mr. Lupima assured me and my husband we would be saving HUNDREDS of dollars a month with Retriever. He told me I could stop the service at any time without penalty. He told me I would be leasing the terminal for $49.99 a month but the savings I made up from the processing fees would more than pay for this rental. He NEVER told me that the lease was with a different company and that it was non-canceable. I didn't start using Retriever as my service until 9/8.

After the first statement my husband carefully reviewed the statement and discovered I saved a little less than $50.00. I then called Retriever to tell them I would be canceling. This is when my life became hell. They tried to talk me out of canceling but I told them I was terminating, It was then that I learned the terminal that I leased was with Lease Finance Group and that Mr. Lupima deceptively had me sign a non cancelable 48 month lease. Many phone calls, letters, complaints to the BBB in three states and the bottom line is that Lease Finance Group is still demanding payment on this lease. I used the machine for three weeks and sent it back immediately after terminating services with Retriever. Lease Finance Group is now threatening to contact the credit reporting institutions for lack of payment.

I have gone back and forth with Retriever and Lease Finance Group but the bottom line is I NEVER would have had this problem if Mike Lupima had not lied to me. I have tried to contact his boss Brian Kamstra, president of merchant services in South Holland. He does not return my phone calls but his biography on his web site made me ill. On the web site he prides himself in trust and integrity as a business man.
