Pre-Approval is a Lie

CitiBank Pre-Approved Refinance under the Obama plan is not Pre-Approved in the sense like credit card offers are Pre-Approved. I could have missed a payment per instructions of the notary then thrown my perfect payment off when this loan did not go through.

The staff all along the way is clueless as to what is required to approve for this "Pre-Approved" offer.

I was told twice that I do not need to verify employment, yet they needed a ball park figure of my income and the exact amount is not required because it's insignificant anyway, but that's not the case.

CitiBank put me at risk of losing it all by getting ahead of themselves by saying I was Pre-Approved, they sent out a notary, we processed all the paperwork, the notary said don't make your next mortgage payment which is normal procedure but CitiBank never bothered to notify me that the re-finance never went through.

If I hadn't pestered them along the way I never would have known that it didn't go through based on my inability to provide official proof of employment.

You should stop using the word Pre-Approved because it's deceptive and makes people think they are already approved when they are not. I was never "Pre-Approved", you lied to me as your customer. How am I now supposed to feel about CitiBank now? You wasted a lot of people's time and money by using the word Pre-Approved. Don't do that when it's not true.

Had you been open and honest with me in the very first letter and told me of the verification process and requirements then I never would have wasted my time or yours, and when you repeat this same blundering mistake with all of your customers then you must be losing billions of dollars. It's almost as if you want to go bankrupt due to this idiocy so you can get bailed out.
